I am currently using FlexiShield  prepaid plan for which  we have to pay Rs675 for a month.I thinking of changing to Postpaid plan as we can recharge the plans according to usage we are going to make.

It needs a 3G Sim to work and it can be inserted easily and a memory M2 card slot is also provided within the USB modem.

  • hey.. Don’t you think Rs. 650 for 1.25 GB per month is a bit costly…

I use Tata Docomo 3G… The plan is postpaid and cost me Rs. 900 for 15 GB download per month…

It may not give the highest speed but yes it has comfort speed of average 1 mbps….

    • Ya its costly,But airtel gives upto 7 mbps speed. But Tata Docomo gives only 1 Mbps constant speed and as i like to browse faster i preferred Airtel mobile Internet.. 🙂

  • I am planning to buy Airtel 3G datacard .
I have one doubt. The 3G datacard signal is the same as the mobile signal or different. if we get good signal in mobile, can we say that we will also get good signal for 3G network.

    Please suggest …

    • @Mohan..The datacard signal will be same as that of the mobile signal. The 3G network is different from our normal EDGE network.3G used HSPA network. If you have a good 3G reception ,Your airtel Datacard speed will be at its best.Thanks.Do visit again 🙂

  • @V3King..Go to Tools>>Options >>Networks in the Airtel 3G dongle connection manager and choose Network type as WCDMA preferred and Band option as All Bands and apply the settings.Do subscribe to receive updates.

  • hey what if i use it after unlocking… wid other sim of airtel only.. wid normal net pack…. will the speed differ???

  • what is the use of M2 slot in the data card?
as u said it gives up to 7mbps but in a 3g sim how can v increase the speed upto 7mbps…

    • @shashank.You can use it like a pen drive by using an M2 card in the slot of the data card. The speed is based on the network capacity. The 3G(Third Generation network)sim can be used to connect to internet upto 7 mbps and more. Thanks do subscribe to receive updated via mail.

  • I have a Airtel 3G connection. The speedtest shows download speed of around 2-3 Mbps and upload speed of slightly less than 1 Mbps. With this, its fairly decent to browse the internet, but surprisingly its tough to work from home. The experience of working from home was decent earlier even with a 512 Kbps broadband connection. Can anyone please help me debug this discrepancy? Somebody directed me to check the health of connection using, which actually evaluates to “D*” with Airtel 3G.

    • The speed varies according to the network signal and the network providers. As i am getting Full coverage my speed is upto 5 to 6 Mbps now.
You can try to unlock your USB modem by reading the link given at the end of this post and then use another network provider to increase your speed.

    • Hai Rahul,
1.Just go to Network settings in Mobile Partner software and select Network as Both UMTS and you will be able to access 3G,or you must subscribe to 3G network for IDEA or Aircel by calling customer care.
2.What series did you buy,if you wanted to use all the sims(Service providers),Its better to go with a new Unlocked Huawaii Datacard.
